Play Golf Myrtle Beach and PGA TOUR Studios have partnered to present The Q at Myrtle Beach, an innovative competition for a spot to tee it up with the PGA TOUR pros in the 2025 ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, May 8-11, 2025, at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club. Featuring 16 players, including eight aspiring golf professionals and eight influential content creators, The Q at Myrtle Beach is an 18-hole, stroke-play competition that was played on March 3 at TPC Myrtle Beach. The winner will be revealed when the event airs on YouTube on May, 5, 2025, at noon ET.

This past week saw the Play Golf Myrtle Beach photography team complete a Central Strand trifecta. David Williams stopped by “The Granddaddy” at Pine Lakes Country Club, while Rob Spallone and Jim Maggio each took to the skies: Rob at the Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University, and Jim at the Lakes nine at Arrowhead Country Club.  Their images showcase three of the many examples of the type of scenic welcome mat that’s here to greet you right now when you arrive in “The Golf Capital of the World!”

Play Golf Myrtle Beach has teamed up with Aaron Chewning, the co-founder of St. Andre Golf, to launch a fresh and innovative video series, “Course Cases with Aaron Chewning.” In Episode 4, Aaron discovers first-hand just how much water you can experience on a golf course – in this case, at the Dan Maples-designed Man O’ War Golf Course. The ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic will again host a Horry County Schools (HCS) Day from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on April 14, where more than 250 high school students majoring in marketing, culinary services, hospitality and turf management will receive a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look at what’s involved in running a PGA TOUR event. The professional golf event will be contested May 8-11 at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

The late Pete Dye is an iconic figure in architecture circles and while his brother, P.B. Dye, doesn’t enjoy the same acclaim, he has designed more than a few memorable tracks. Between the two, they each have a solo Myrtle Beach course to their credit and they co-designed one of the area’s most popular layouts.

Of the nine players featured by CBS Sports Network in its special chronicling the 2021 Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship, six have already competed in a U.S. Open, LPGA Tour or PGA TOUR event. Three have already earned their PGA TOUR or LPGA Tour card. And three additional players not featured in the special have each played multiple events on either the PGA TOUR or LIV Golf.

As spring settles in along the Grand Strand, we can’t help but marvel at the energy surrounding “The Golf Capital of the World” right now.
