On a sunny, beautiful 60-degree day today in Pawleys Island, we stopped by Heritage Club to check in on current course conditions. Head Course Superintendent Jim Huntoon had good news to share, along with a forecast for what visiting golfers can expect this spring.
On what golfers can expect to see when they visit this spring:
“Heritage Club is like a lot of our golf courses here in Myrtle Beach: beautiful – the natural landscape, the azaleas, the magnolias … everything we have on the property here along with the golf course. It’s going to be in excellent shape.”
On recent feedback from visiting golfers:
“It’s all been positive. We’ve been very fortunate this year with good weather. Through this past fall it was wet for a long time, which was unfortunate for our fall golfers. But it has really helped everybody this spring.
“I think in general all the courses (in the area) are in good shape. We’ve dried down now, we didn’t have a lot of wear and tear on the courses because of the weather in the fall, and I think they’re in great shape going forward.
“I think it’s going to be a better spring than we’ve had in a while.”
