Golfers in the Myrtle Beach area know that a great day on the course isn’t just about the perfect drive or a low score. Sometimes, the clubhouse fare is what makes the experience unforgettable. From cheesy slices to hearty sandwiches, the Grand Strand’s courses offer up some standout meals that are perfect for fueling up before or after a round. Here are the four clubhouse meals that left a lasting impression.
1. Pizza from Sunset Slice – Sea Trail Golf Resort
In addition to its already amazing 55 Bistro Bar, Sea Trail has managed to squeeze an entire pizzeria into their freshly renovated clubhouse and convention center, and they’re cranking out some of the best pies on the Grand Strand. Whether you go for the indulgent Supreme or keep it simple with a Margherita, you’re not going to be disappointed. And to be clear, this is coming from someone who grew up in the Northeast and has extremely strong convictions when it comes to pizza opinions.
2. Club Sandwich – Prestwick Country Club
I can never turn down a club sandwich. If it’s on the menu, I’m almost certainly ordering it. Ham, turkey, bacon, and American cheese with lettuce and tomato … you know the drill. However, Prestwick is executing this sandwich staple on a completely different level. Perfectly toasted, buttery bread, more layers of meat, cheese, and veggies than are probably necessary, and just the right amount of mayo (a lot).
3. Myrtle Beach Classic Breakfast Burrito – The Dunes Golf and Beach Club
I’m not sure if this is available year-round, but offered up as a “grab-and-go” option outside the press and media room, it was one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had. Not breaking new ground ingredient-wise—just your standard crispy potatoes, sausage, eggs, cheese, etc.—but with perfect seasoning and execution on everything. I may have snuck a second one into my bag to enjoy out on No. 10 tee box, where I was posted up for the day (shhhh!).
4. Bubba’s Po’ Boy Sandwich – Caledonia Golf & Fish Club
Fried oysters (or shrimp), chopped lettuce, and thinly sliced onion on a hoagie roll with a side of Southwestern ranch. You can’t argue with the classics, especially when elevated by Caledonia’s always on-point kitchen staff. Eating seafood on their back porch overlooking No. 18 green with the beautiful marsh vibes just hits different.
Whether you’re grabbing a slice or indulging in a classic po’ boy with a view, these memorable meals add a little extra enjoyment to the game. Next time you’re teeing off at one of these courses, make sure to save room for a taste of what their kitchens have to offer. You won’t be disappointed!
