Thanks to Horry County Schools (HCS) and organizers of the Myrtle Beach Classic, students from nine Horry County, South Carolina high schools got an up-close, inside look at how a PGA TOUR event comes together at a host venue, gaining valuable insight from experts in agriculture, hospitality and marketing at Monday’s “PGA TOUR High School Day” at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
Breakout sessions included presentations from the experts on how their career paths evolved from high school to their current positions, as well as overviews of their job responsibilities and how they relate to preparations for the Myrtle Beach area’s first-ever PGA TOUR event next month.
Attendees included students from Green Sea Floyds, Aynor, Loris, Conway, Carolina Forest, North Myrtle Beach, St. James, Socastee and Myrtle Beach high schools.
