May River Takes Crown at Style Driver Girls High School Palmetto Tournament of Champions

May River (Bluffton, S.C.) outlasted a strong push from upstate rival Dorman (Roebuck, S.C.) to capture the team title at the Style Driver Girls High School Palmetto Tournament of Champions Sept. 14-15 at True Blue Golf Club.

Chesnee (S.C.), Durham Academy (Durham, N.C.) and Waccamaw (Pawleys Island, S.C.) rounded out the top five-finishing teams.

Durham’s Jenna Kim (-9) fired stellar rounds of 68 and 67 on the challenging, par-72 Mike Strantz design at True Blue to take individual medalist honors, with teammate Saia Rampersaud (-2) and Atlantic Collegiate Academy’s Hannah Lowery (+2) each earning second and third place honors, respectively.

Thanks to Style Driver’s title sponsorship commitment, the top teams and individual players from throughout the Carolinas were invited to compete in this first-time event with no entry fees for participating schools and players.

In addition to the aforementioned schools, competing schools included Conway (S.C.), Carolina Forest (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), D.W. Daniel (Central, S.C.), Hilton Head Prep (S.C.) and Northwest Guilford (Greensboro, N.C.)

Campbell University’s PGA Golf Management program joined this event as its presenting sponsor, with Play Golf Myrtle Beach and True Blue Golf Club as supporting partners.
