Grand Strand Health Again Partners with ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic

Grand Strand Health is again offering its medical services to players and fans as the official healthcare partner of the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, which is scheduled from May 8-11 at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

The large regional healthcare provider will establish a field office near hole 17 and additional satellite locations near hole three and the Fan Zone. Emergency Medical Technicians will also be on duty throughout the event.

“Our providers and colleagues enjoy opportunities to serve our community’s residents and visitors outside of the hospital walls,” said Mark Sims, chief executive officer of Grand Strand Health. “We are happy to say we had only 58 calls for minor medical attention last year from among 40,000 spectators. We are hoping for even fewer medical calls this year.

“For those attending, we encourage everyone to drink plenty of water and to pace themselves throughout the day. We want everyone to have a great time at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, but we will be there to handle any medical situations that may arise.”

Tickets for the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic are available for purchase at www.myrtlebeachclassic.com. Active and retired military personnel as well as first responders are welcome to two free tickets to Wednesday’s practice round, and additional tickets (2 per day) for Thursday through Sunday at a 25 percent discount.

Historically, May is an ideal month in Myrtle Beach, with average temperatures in the low 80s and only a few days of rain.

The ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic is a dual-field PGA TOUR event co-sponsored by ONEflight and Visit Myrtle Beach, and managed by SPORTFIVE, a global event management company. The local event will be one of two stops in the Palmetto State for the PGA TOUR in 2025.

A Robert Trent Jones-designed course, The Dunes Club was incorporated in 1948. It was host to the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship on PGA TOUR Champions from 1994 to 1999, with notables Raymond Floyd, Jim Colbert, Jay Sigel, Gil Morgan, Hale Irwin and Gary McCord claiming titles. Twenty-one years earlier, the Dunes Club was the site of PGA TOUR Q-School Finals in 1973, with Ben Crenshaw taking medalist honors.
