As members of the Grammy Award-winning band Hootie & the Blowfish came to the Grand Strand for their recent induction into the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame, they sat down with Charlie Rymer to share these thoughts on what the Myrtle Beach area means to them after all the years they’ve been active here.

On the day of his new golf school facility’s grand opening, world No. 1 golfer Dustin Johnson and Dustin Johnson Golf School’s Allen Terrell joined host Hank Haney on his PGA TOUR Radio show on SiriusXM as they broadcast live from the state-of-the-art new facility located at TPC Myrtle Beach.

The 2019 Myrtle Beach March Championship came to a close on Tuesday afternoon, but even though not all the golfers are leaving town with trophies, all 216 participating golfers are leaving with smiles on their faces because of the pristine conditions they saw in Myrtle Beach.

The University of North Florida (-21) fought off a late surge by Wake Forest to capture the team title by five strokes Tuesday at the General Hackler Championship at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club. Wake Forest’s Cameron Young (-12) took home the individual crown with a two-shot victory over Kentucky’s Lucas Euler.

Paced by Travis Trace (-11), the tournament’s leading individual performer with Monday rounds of 66 and 67, 18^th-ranked North Florida (-22) takes a four-shot lead into Tuesday’s final round of the General Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina University at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

The Myrtle Beach March Championship returned to the Grand Strand, as 216 golfers from around the country gathered for an early-season tune-up. The first round of the three-round event took place Sunday at Whispering Pines and the Hackler Golf Course.

Team USA overcame a one-point deficit entering final-round play Saturday at the inaugural Can Am Cup at Barefoot Resort & Golf, taking 7.5 of a possible 12 points in better ball competition at The Dye Course to win the competition, 16-14.

The Dunes Golf & Beach Club is set to host one of the nation’s premier collegiate competitions early next week, with free admission offered to all attending spectators along with a unique opportunity to see many of golf’s future professional stars in action.
