Golf Digest has released its latest compilation of “The Best Golf Courses in South Carolina,” and two Myrtle Beach-area designs have once more assumed a familiar place on this prestigious list.
With the publication’s announcement of its 2019-2020 honorees, The Dunes Golf & Beach Club (No. 16) and Caledonia Golf & Fish Club (No. 22) return to the list as two of only five public access courses statewide to be included, along with two recurring hosts of PGA TOUR events (The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island at No. 1, and Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island at No. 5) and May River Golf Club at Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton (No. 11), named by the South Carolina Golf Course Ratings Panel as the state’s “Best New Course” in 2005.
The Golf Digest honors for The Dunes Club and Caledonia come on the heels of their recognition by Golfweek Magazine earlier this spring, as the leaders among nine Grand Strand designs included in their 2019-2020 “Top 15 Courses You Can Play in South Carolina.”
